The next five days with Matt

Other than last Friday, the past few days have been sort of calm.

On Friday we had arrangements to meet up with Michelle in Fredericksburg in the Best Buy parking lot. I had set the alarm for 10:30, since she said she was going to call before she left, which would have been around 11 o'clock. It would also give us lots of time to get moving, since Matt likes laying for a while after waking up before going anywhere. By 11:30, Michelle had still not called and Matt was still not ready. I couldn't figure out whether she wouldn't have called or if she was running late, but it didn't really matter since we weren't ready to go either. We ended up getting out the door around noonish, and then fighting traffic all the way to town. We had to stop once for a bathroom break, too. I was sort of freaking out about being late... I never blamed Matt for it, I just have a thing with at least arriving within 5 minutes of the time I was supposed to be there. We ended up in the parking lot by 12:30ish, and the only description I had was that it was a gold/tan car (since that's all I can tell the difference of... I didn't think to ask for anything more). We scanned the parking lot and hung outside for a while with no sign of her.... so I decided to call home and get her cell phone number. I'm lucky my dad picked up the phone to gone me the number, otherwise we would have been stranded there for an hour... because even though Michelle didn't mention it on the phone when I called her from Best Buy, she later said in the car that she had gone to the gym with a friend before coming down and had not called us to tell us that change of plans. I didn't really mind, since we were late as well, but that was still sort of ehh. Matt and I ended up eating at Wendy's to help kill time until she arrived, and still had to wait a little bit longer in the parking lot for her to get there.

After taking some time deciding on what we would do (all of us are very indecisive) we settled on bowling. Matt and I had already brought socks incase we did decide to do that, but Matt had only brought one by accident... whoops. And, luckily, Michelle just happened to have some socks of her own.

Bowling went alright, though my camera's batteries went dead shortly after getting there. We played 2 games, and both times Matt won, I came in second, and Michelle last. Or, I think. I might have lost the first game. Matt was the only one who broke 100 in score... sort of funny with all the times he kept saying that I would beat him :P

After that we checked to see if there were any movies playing, but we had already seen all the movies that the other person wanted to see (ex: Michelle had already seen Down With Love when that was the last movie on Matt and I's list to see, and we had already seen Bruce Almighty, which Michelle seemed interested in seeing... but neither of us thought the movies were good enough to see again.) So... we ended up going to the mall and just walking around until we decided what to do. We shopped around a little... Michelle ended up buying a purse, and Matt bought me this white hat and sunglasses because he said I looked simply precious in them :P and I also got this green yoyo thing from one of those girly trinket shops, thinking it would be a cute toy for the cats... but they ended up being confused by it.

After that, we went into the parking lot and just talked some more outside of Michelle's car. Michelle suggested that we go inside Ruby Tuesdays and just talk for a while, since it was better than just standing around outside. So, we did, for about an hour and a 1/2. All we ordered for food was some cheese sticks and some drinks, and the waitress kept hovering over us, as if waiting for us to free up her table for people who would really order something. I had fun just sitting there and talking with them both, though... Matt seemed comfortable around Michelle, and he later said we had very similar personalities. I had warned him that I would be different around my friends, but all he's told me so far that was different is that I make more comments when I'm around other people :P Which I guess is my thing... weird and odd comments about anything. It's usually what makes me funny, but ehh. I feel like I'm losing it.

Michelle was gone by 7:30 and Matt and I headed home. We made some plans to see Michelle this Friday or Saturday, but I doubt they will go through... they were for seeing parts of DC or maybe going to the DC zoo, but Matt can't seem to stand outside without being attacked by horrible allergies. Sometimes even walking through the house he gets a fit of it, and it really has been upsetting him. But, blah, I'm getting ahead of myself.

That night we stopped to get gas and then headed on home. Once in the door, we remembered that we had forgotten to return the videos, and since I swore up and down that the video store closed at 9PM (even though it's 10PM now, it used to be 9) we rushed them up real quick. On the way back I suggested walking around the lake at the clubhouse, since it was near dark and it would probably be really pretty. Despite the fact that there were alot of people there (from eating at the clubhouse dining hall... the weather was nice enough for them to be outside on the deck-like area) it was actually really peaceful and beautiful. The little walkways were lined with the old fashioned light posts, and there was a very gentle breeze coming off of the water... it was rather romantic. Matt and I stood on a little cemented area by the water and just hugged each other, looking out at it. We talked about alot of different things... memories of lakes, my dreams of living on the water one day, any water. I can't remember what exactly he said, but he talked about wanting to propose to me in a place and time like this, and asking me if I would still say yes. I told him I would.

After that, we walked around alittle bit more until his allergies started to get to him again, which was when we headed back to the car. That night we watched the one DVD we kept late (Catch Me If You Can) and I believe we also made love that night. It was only the second time we had this trip... I haven't been feeling all that well... either my stomach decides to cramp (it's almost like it's trying to keep me from doing it) or I have some weird freak accident that causes my feet to swell up and hurt :P Damn golf corse.

The next day was a half lounging and half errands. We went back into town to pick up my contacts that had arrived, and to get some advil and some condoms :P Since we had been using the pullout method before, and that's worked fine... mainly because I haven't been able to last very long because I got sore easily. Now that that was sort of going away for whatever reason, we thought it would be best to finally start using condoms... Especially since it's less messy, too :P We also spent a long time looking at the toy section, getting jealous of all the cool shit kids these days have, and how we would have killed for such high tech fancy neat stuff they have now.

After we had bought the stuff, we decided we would eat at the McDonalds that was in the Wal-Mart. Matt and to go to the bathroom so was just standing outside of the McDonalds waiting for them when I looked to my right... and made eye contact with a man, roughly 50ish years of age, who was smiling at me goofly. I did my automatic response when I make eye contact with someone and smiled, and before I turned away he snuck in a wink at me. I instantly turned forward, trying to figure it, but he decided to strike up a conversation with me... saying "Awe, c'mon, smile, it can't be that bad." I thought of the best response I could and said, "Well, it's been raining for two weeks straight." He came back with something along the lines of: "Oh, yeah, I've been traveling the country and I can't wait for the weather to get warm again, because that's when the shorts go up!" I sort of rolled my eyes and turned my face away, though I was still smiling and laughing to be polite. He said, "I'll bet you wear short shorts, too, don't you?" I told him, "No, not really..." And he said "Awe, c'mon, you can't be that modest." And I was like, "Well, yeah, I am." Luckily he just sort of laughed and turned his head away... but when I looked at him again, he extended his hand. I instantly thought he was just going to shake my hand, so I gave it to him without a second thought, but he ended up taking my hand in a dainty pose, almost as if to kiss it, but just ended up holding it out in front of him and making eye contact with me... I just sort of smiled wearily and looked down. Shortly after that Matt returned from the Bathroom and I told him all about it... I actually had to play it off some, since I noticed the guy looking over at us, and I didn't want him to feel bad so I made motions like checking my watch and what not to play it off. Even though I thought it was rather nasty (and pretty damn funny) I didn't want him to be emotionally scared from it, since it takes alot of guts to do something like that. But yeah, anyway... we ended eating there and then heading home.

That night we made love again, using the condoms :P Other than the first two times we ever made love, it was the first time he never had to, well, pull out... and even though condoms sort of lesson the feeling (for both him and me) it was almost worth it to be able to see/share that with him.

The next day we decided to drive to Orange... just because we had sort of done everything else there was to do almost. I had thought it would be a pretty drive, since it does go through some very country areas (both ghetto and pretty) but it was sort of lessened by the fact that he was suffering from allergies the whole time. He did take some pictures with his camera, though, which I may post along with my pictures when I finally do post them. Once we got in Orange, there wasn't much else to do other than eat, which we did at Burger King. In there Matt talked about this certain allergy stuff he could maybe get, and we decided that after we left Burger King that we would stop inside CVS to see if they had it. They ended up not having it, so we figured we would try Food Lion, just encase.

When we talked in there, I remember saying "I hope I don't see anyone I know..." and Matt made a comment of "Maybe you'll see Sandy." Right as he was heading for the medicine isle, I looked to my left and saw a girl walking away that almost looked exactly like Sandy... but I guess I wrote it off because she wasn't walking like I remembered Sandy walking. I tried to help Matt look for his stuff (even though I didn't really know what I was looking for :P  and we didn't find anything... and while looking I tried to keep and eye on the register lines, trying to look for the girl I had seen. Right when Matt and I gave up looking and decided they didn't have what he was looking for, either, I saw the profile of the girl walking by... and knew instantly it was Sandy. I turned to Matt and asked him if he wanted to meet her, and he said sure... so I walked up behind her as she was putting her stuff on the register and asked her behind her shoulder, "What'd ya get?" I sort of startled her with that, which was what I was going for. We talked to her while she went through checkout, and then went outside and talked with her some more. Mainly about what we had been doing and the stuff she had done with Steve and his gf Missy the night before. It was cool to see her there (it had to be Matt's luck to see her, since he's always so lucky and I have such crap luck) but poor Matt was suffering from allergies the whole time. He ended up staying pretty quiet, and I even almost forgot about his allergies since he was so quiet about it... but when he started sneezing some and I saw how red his poor eyes were, I said my goodbyes to Sandy and we headed on out. We ended up just going to PHMS again so I could see what kind of construction they were doing to it, and it looked as though they were building a whole knew school on the other side of the football field. We didn't get out the car, though.. Matt was hunched in his seat with his hands over his face. We went home shortly after that, and I tried my best to speed to get there faster. We made one quick stop by the CVS in front of LOW, to check to see if they had the nose spray Matt was looking for, but they did not :(

That evening I think we ordered Dominos Pizza and just sort of hung around.

Yesterday we went out as sort of a "test." We had been wanting to go to Kings Dominion, but with his allergies being like they are he would probably die from being outside :( So yesterday he took two Benadryl to see how well they would work and how well he'd be able to hold out during the day with them. We did some random stuff like eating at Ruby Tuesday's and then doing some searching for stuff for me to make... some dolls :P After seeing all the toys in Wal-Mart, I decided that I was old enough to have my own toys again, since I really feel I gave them away to early. Course, I didn't want to spent $20 on a Barbie or a Brat doll... I wanted to make my own like I did when I was little. So, we went to two fabric/craft stores to get that stuff, and also to both Wal-Mart and Toys R Us for me to look for clothes for them. It was really sweet of Matt to hang with me for all that stuff. He seemed to be ok with the Benadryl, but not too hot with the allergies :( So, the test was a fail... that night he said he didn't want to go any place, neither to luray or to Kings Dominion... He was sorry that it would disappoint me, but we both knew he'd basically be miserable if we went. I was a little bummed, but I'd rather he be feeling good than miserable :ehh:

Today we went bowling again, this time to the new bowling alley that was just built in Massaponix (sp?). It was alot cheaper than the AMF closer to LOW ($5 compared to $3.50), though the lanes at the new one were not broken in and were a little too slick for my liking... but they had prettier bowling balls :P My father had also gone on and on about how there were two stories, with bowling lanes on each one, but it ended up having all of the lanes on the first level and then box seating for the second... which I have no freaking clue why they would have boxed seating for a bowling alley, but ehh. The whole time we were bowling, there was this very friendly hick that kept talking to us and making jokes about bowling and how we were doing. He was nice, but most of the time I couldn't hear what he was saying so I would just smile and nod :P Matt ended up kicking my ass all 4 games, and he even got a 155 once. Yeah, he certainly sucks alright... I don't think I broke 100 once :P Whatever uberness I had in bowling is obviously gone... and I broke two more nails to prove it.

After that we went to Fun Land and just played some games. Well, I played rollerball once, then we both played a basketball game, Crusin' Exotica, and air hockey once, then we went to this wheel of fortune game and ended up winning some 950 tokens total from it :P Matt landed on 500 once, and I landed on 90 twice and 60 once. The rest were just from all the times we didn't land on the damn blue light to be able to spin. We ended up getting this cute stuffed bear (which Matt called "ghetto"... I thought it was really cute, even if it was only 600 tokens to get ;P) and then two things of noise putty (which we've been entertaining each other with juicy fart noises from them all evening :P  and then some lollypops and one of those pig-poo keychains.

While at the bowling alley I made some comment to Matt... I can't remember what... something suggesting about how there was nothing else left to do in Fredericksburg, I think... and he suggested going to Luray tomorrow. I didn't want him to go only because he thought I wanted to, but he assured me that wasn't the reason. In the end it ended up being good that we didn't go to Kings Dominion today since it was raining, but tomorrow it won't be, and it will probably be horrible for him again :( But he said he wanted to... so that evening, after we got home, he put in reservations for tomorrow night. We're going to leave sometime tomorrow (no rush, just take our time), then puts around the area... like maybe go to museums until dinner time, and then go back to the hotel for the night. We wouldn't actually take the tour until the day we leave. The hotel is supposed to have a really nice view of the mountains and some park (the name escapes me and I'm too tired of typing to go check for it) so hopefully it'll be a pretty view from inside... because I doubt Matt will be able to stand out long enough to get a good look, the poor guy. Damn the tree sex in Virginia, DAMN IT :P

This evening my dad also saw some ducks in the yard, and told me and Matt about them so we could go see... mainly because they were accompanied with a huge white duck. I used to have ducks when I was a kid, two of them, and they ended up being white... the first white ducks I had ever seen in the lake, actually. So whenever I hear about white ducks, I always wonder if maybe it was them or one of their children. And sure enough, there was a huge fucking white duck with a normal mallard and a female (don't know the name of a female duck) eating some of the birdseed my father leaves out for the other birds. I quickly went to get some bread and started giving them some as they were walking away, which made them turn around and come back to me. The two smaller ducks seemed scared of me, but the big fucking white one seemed to have no problem taking bread from my hand. It's been forever since I've fed ducks, and I did have fun :P I had Matt go get his camera and he took pictures of them, so I'll post them as well when I get around to it all. I offered Matt some bread to feed the ducks too, but he was sweet and let me do it while he just kept taking pictures.

Shortly after that I saw that the movie "Signs" was on Pay Per View and I wanted to order it... so we did. I had heard rumors of it being a shitty movie... but little did I know that they were right. Oops. It was as bad as Angel Eyes, as Matt put it, and it was. Oh well, though... 3.80 is alot to pay for a icky movie, though.

So, yeah. Tomorrow we leave for Luray, and I hope it won't be too boring... hopefully pretty and romantic. But that depends on whether Matt will be able to breathe or not :P
